Key Details On September 27, 2025, students in the “Forced Migration and Human Security” couse, members of the Unlabeled, and graduate students participated in a field trip to Daejeon Support Center for Foreign Residents. Through special lectures delivered by the head of the support center and the team leader, participants gained an in-depth understanding of the status of migrant residents in the Daejeon, as well as practical support measures provided for them. The visit served as an important opportunity to observe how theoretical concepts discussed in the classroom are applied in real-world contexts. After the lectures, participants interviewed counselors working at the center, including staff members with migrant backgrounds. Participants discussed various topics such as visa and residency issues, educational support, and the challenges of the settlement process, gaining firsthand insights into the lived experiences of migrant residents.

Outcome and Key Takeaways Through the lectures delivered by the the head of the support center and the team leader, we were able to understand the scale and characteristics of migrant residents in Daejeon. In addition, interviews with counselors at the center provided insights into the settlement process and daily life of migrant residents in Daejeon.
